There are around 70,000 Iranian resident in B.C, a number of which have settled and formed their own societies and organizations namely, cultural, youth groups, Senior and. Some also have formed their political affiliations Seeing the seating numbers of these groups the thought of re-grouping them under a so-called single umbrella came to mind of a few, which the result of that was formation of the Iranian-Canadian Congress of B.C. in 2003 taking in 9 elected Official members from various groups in nearly 8 groups.
Structure
Iranian-Canadian Congress of B.C.(ICC) is a not for profit, non partisan and nonreligious organization that is committed to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Congress is an umbrella organization consisting of individuals and independent societies and Associations.

Nine people are the total number of this body, with help of three others whose job is coordinating the overall activities.

All individuals or groups (Iranian or none-Iranian) by agreeing with the content of the structural rules and orders can become a member based on the
Funding
The entire financial source of support comes from community members, providing help to the societies and communities with the cultural and social activities here in Vancouver, Canada.
Activities of the Congress
The Congress has consistently been active in up keeping its goal; helping with the needs of Iranian community here in Vancouver, Canada… It also has been instrumental in developing relation and contact with its Canadian counterparts.
Mandate
- To promote the rights of all individuals, in particular, those of Iranian-Canadians and to encourage their full and equal participation in Canadian society.
- To create an environment in this country in which the rights of all individuals are fully recognized and protected.
- To promote understanding and cooperation between Iranian-Canadians and all other ethnic, cultural and racial groups in Canada.
- To encourage and develop in persons of Iranian descent, a desire to know and to respect their historical and cultural heritage; to educate them in adopting a creative and positive attitude towards the Iranian Canadian contribution to society.
Goals
By developing a strong national voice:
Activating new members across Canada to work with existing groups in the Iranian community; cooperating with other racial groups; setting up an effective national network of communication.
By working in the areas of human and civil rights:
Monitoring the media; confronting stereotyping and racism and abuse of human rights.
Political awareness and participation:
Political awareness workshops; informing the public of important issues which directly affect them; Sponsoring all candidates meetings; submissions to different levels of government; active participation & advocacy in the decision making of our government’s policies.
Cultural and social activities:
Festivals, street fairs, special events and community activities; historical and cultural heritage exhibit that travel across Canada.
اساسنامه اتحاديه ايرانيان
اساسنامه اتحاديه ایرانیان کانادا سازمانی غیرانتفاعی، غیر حزبی و غیر مذهبی است که به منشور جهانی حقوق بشر و حقوق و آزادی های کانادا پایبند است.
اهداف و وظايف
اتحاديه سراسری ايرانيان دارای اهداف زير است:
۱- تلاش پيگير جهت بسط و تعميم اتحاديه و متحد کردن انجمنها، وکانونها و مؤسسات ايرانی و ايرانيان مقيم Canada.
۲- دفاع از حقوق اجتماعی ايرانيان مقيم Canada بصورت خاص، و مردم ايران بشکل عام در چهارچوب منشور جهانی حقوق بشر و ميثاق بينالمللی حقوق مدنی و سياسی، ميثاق بينالمللی حقوق اقتصادی _ اجتماعی و فرهنگی. مسئولين اتحاديه وظيفه دارند در چارچوب منشور جهانی حقوق بشر در مورد مسائلی که خارج از Canada اتفاق میافتد، موضعگيری موردی نمايند.
3- حفاظت از منافع جامعه ایرانی – کانادایی و سلامت و امنیت آن در محافل اجتماعی، اقتصادی، سیاسی و فرهنگی کانادا.
4- ایجاد همکاری میان جامعه ایرانی- کانادایی و جوامع دیگر کانادا بمنظور ترویج و تقویت ثبات و پذیرش فرهنگی در بین جوامع مختلف، بگونه ای که به درک و کسب اعتماد بین اقشار مختلف جامعه کانادایی کمک کند.
5- ایجاد محیطی سازنده برای شرکت اعضای جامعه ایرانی – کانادایی در فعالیت های گروهی و همکاری برای خدمت به جامعه خود
6- برقرار کردن رابطه مستحکم بین جوامع و سازمان های ایرانی – کانادایی در سراسر کانادا
7- شناسایی، معرفی و تشویق رهبران جامعه ایرانی – کانادایی که می توانند صدایی برای جامعه ایرانی- کانادایی باشند و کمک رسانی به آنها برای موفقیت هر چه بیشترشان د رمقامهای شهری، استانی، و کشوری
8- معرفی، تشویق و تقدیر از فرهنگ، ارزشها، زبانها و تاریخ ایرانی و حفاظت از احترام، حیثیت، خوشنامی، و موفقیت جامعه ایرانی- کانادایی
9- هدایت منابع و اهداف جامعه ایرانی – کانادایی به سمت پیدا کردن موقعیت/مکان مناسب خود در جامعه کانادایی و ادغام کامل آن در زندگی مدنی کانادا
10- حمایت از سازمانهایی که برای افراد نیازمند در جامعه ایرانی خدمات اجتماعی فراهم می کنند
